Eyring’s Salvation Lies Cause Mormon Doubt and Confusion

30 October

“This Day,” Conference April 2007 “It is hard to know when we have done enough for the Atonement to change our natures and so qualify us for eternal life. And we don’t know how many days we will have to give the service necessary for that mighty change to come. But we know that we will have days enough if only we don’t waste them.” Henry B. Eyring  Deuteronomy 28:66 “And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life”

Romans 10:3 “For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.”

A few years before Mr. Eyring gave the above noted speech at General Conference, Kirk and I did a live call-in radio show here in Seattle. We arranged, and invited a local Stake President to join us as we discussed both Mormonism, and Christianity. All this took place at our local Christian radio station KGNW, and we planned for it to air from 4-6 pm – when people were driving home from work.

Long story short, we wanted to stay focused on two topics: Jesus, and salvation.

The one thing I kept asking the dear man was if he had assurance of salvation. He in turn, kept giving the same answer – ‘I don’t want to be bold enough to assume Heavenly Father would grant me such a thing, but I pray He will’.

The scenario above is still being played out today throughout Mormonism – and it’s done so worldwide, not just here in Seattle. Shame on Mr. Eyring, and his cohorts!

In our Bible verse today is a true story of how God cursed the Israelites for their disobedience. The affects of their sinful behavior caused their uneasiness and inner turmoil all day, every day. Sadly, Mormons have repeated the same scenario for themselves today. They’ve chased after foreign gods, and now they too, have no assurance of salvation.

Pray for them to know the true Jesus, and be sure to share the truth about Jesus today! John 8:32

With Love in Christ;
