Why Don’t Mormons Believe Smith’s Inspired Prophecies and Canon

25 May

D&C 54:1; “Behold, thus saith the Lord, even Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, even he who was crucified for the sins of the world—”

1 John 2:2; “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”

Revelation 22:13; “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.”

Let’s quickly look at why Mormons today don’t believe their prophet/s –

1.Jesus can’t be the Alpha and Omega because the Mormon Jesus is a created being who’s in subjection to the Mormon god, Elohim. This disqualifies him from being the ‘beginning’.

See Jesus & Holy Spirit Created by God in Encyclopedia of Mormonism, p. 548.

2.The Mormon Jesus is disqualified from the being the end, because Mormons are working their way to godhood status. Teachings of Spencer W. Kimball, p. 153.

3.The Mormon Jesus wasn’t crucified for the sins of the world. The Mormon Jesus paid for some of the sins of mankind in the Garden of Eden. D&C 19:18
