In this series we’ve taken a few names and their meanings from the Book of Mormon andcompared with what God says in His word.
Why is Molech (the god of Moab in the Bible) known as a holy land in the Book of Mormon? And why is Amaleki in the Book of Mormon a righteous person when the Bible describes Amalekites as a blood-thirsty group of people who went out of their way to cause grief for God’s chosen people the Israelites?
These two names serve as examples of what Joseph Smith did with the names of people, gods, places and events in the Book of Mormon. We’re convinced he did this as a way to confuse people and keep them spiritually unaware of the truth!
