1 Timothy 2:5; “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
Ancient Documents and the Pearl of Great Price, p.13–14; And then there is another deep sleep. He woke from a deep sleep in the first place when he woke up being Adam after being Michael. And now he goes into another deep sleep. Then he wakes up and finds Eve there. Now it’s time to be properly married. This life ends with another sleep. Notice, it says a deep sleep, a passage. He marries Eve in the covenant, verse 22 following. They are very close, as close as you can get here. The rib in Arabic is the urka or silka. It is the expression for anything as close to you as a thing can possibly be.” – Hugh Nibley
1 Timothy 4:1; “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.”
Over the next few days we’ll be looking at some of the craziest things Mormon leaders have said and posting them in our new edition of ‘Worst of the Worst Quotes’.
Obviously the teaching we see today isn’t biblical, and serves no purpose outside of trying to confuse people. It’s sad to think this man (Hugh Nibley) was one of the top apologists the Church relied upon.
Where in the Bible does it ever say God’s angels could become a man? Furthermore, other LDS leaders have contradicted Mr. Nibley by stating Adam and Eve were transplanted here from other planets.
If you’re LDS, which story should you believe?
