‘Christian God is the Mormon Devil’

Journal of Discourses 5:331brigham young; “…Joseph B. Nobles once told a Methodist priest, after hearing him describe his god, that the god they worshipped was the “Mormons’” Devil—a beingNoble Joseph Bateswithout a body, whereas our God has a body, parts, and passions. The Devil was cursed and sent down from heaven. He has no body of his own; therefore he is constantly endeavoring to obtain possession of the tabernacles belonging to others…” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, October 7, 1857

Mark 3:28-29; “Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation”.

And this is why we pray for Mormons. Please, don’t forget to pray for them today! I’m just one of millions who have benefitted from the prayers of true Christians. It may seem like a lost cause, but believe me when I say it’s not!

Isaiah 52:7 says –

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; That bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; That saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!”

The (ex)Mormon who’s the beneficiary of your prayers will always be indebted for your kindness – trust me, I know! The number of people who prayed for me are many, however, I’m ever mindful of their generosity, and for their faithfulness of showing me what a true Christian is.

Today my prayers are a reflection of what Paul said in Romans 9:2-3, and I pray my brothers and sisters in Christ would have the same burden as myself.

“That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. 3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh”.

Today’s Mormon doctrine here is a true reflection of what’s going on in their hearts. Brigham Young and Joseph Nobles may have made this statement 159 years ago, but the sentiment of what they said not only lingers on, but is the driving force behind keeping members in the Church today (2016).

Many Christians are aghast at the true doctrines of Mormonism (and rightly so!), but don’t let that deter you from pounding on the proverbial doors of hell to call the elect out!

Charles Spurgeon once said it’d be nice if the elect had a big “E” stamped on them. I have to agree! It’d be nice to know who the elect are, but we don’t, and in the meantime, may we always remember that Christ has called us to pray for the unsaved – Luke 10:2.
