Brigham Young: Past Earthly Inhabitants are Saviors for Unknown Kingdoms

19 January

Journal of Discourses 6:347;“When his kingdom is established upon the earth, and Zion built up, the Lord will send his servants as saviors upon Mount Zion. The servants of God who have lived on the earth in ages past will reveal where different persons have lived who have died without the Gospel, give their names, and say, “Now go forth, ye servants of God, and exercise your rights and privileges; go and perform the ordinances of the house of God for those who have passed their probation without the law, and for all who will receive any kind of salvation: bring them up to inherit the celestial, terrestrial, and telestial kingdoms,” and probably many other kingdoms not mentioned in the Scriptures…” – Brigham Young, Great Salt Lake City, July 31, 1859

Hebrews 9:27; “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment”.

Matthew 25.46; “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

If you’re LDS, what if anything, did you see in Brigham’s sermon that didn’t seem biblical?

If you’re Christian, how many unbiblical problems did you see in Brigham’s sermon?

Today we’re looking at why the Bible disagrees with ____ points Mr. Young tried to pass off as truth. Here we go!

1.Mr. Young said, ‘when his kingdom is established…’

Newsflash for Mr. Young. The Kingdom of God was established at the time Jesus appeared on earth and began drawing people to Himself.

2.Mr. Young stated, ‘the Lord will send his servants as saviors upon Mount Zion…’

Why would the Savior of all mankind send out other so-called saviors on Mt. Zion? Jesus said He is the 1st amd the last, and the only Savior. Who are these nameless saviors?

3.Brigham claimed Jesus told people to talk to people who’d already lived on earth, and get names of other dead people to be baptized for them. The Bible, however, tells us not to talk to dead people because it’s necromancy. Isaiah 8:1919:329:15.                                                                                                                                                                                               ‘servants of God who have lived on the earth in ages past will reveal where different persons have lived who have died without the Gospel, give their names, and say…’

4.Brigham Young told people to be baptized for dead people. Again, this is necromancy, and the Lord condemned this type of behavior.

5.Mr. Young said there are 3 levels of heaven. This is a lie. There’s only one heaven, and one hell. Destiny is fixed at the end of life. Matthew 25.46.

6.Lastly, Brigham stated there were probably other kingdoms. Where in the Bible does it state this, and as a leader, why would you publicly say such a thing if there’s no proof?

‘…probably many other kingdoms not mentioned in the Scriptures…’

We could’ve made this list longer, but feel that we’ve presented enough evidence to show how everything he said here is a lie. There’s nothing in God’s Holy word that would insinuate such scenarios, and moreover, there’s plenty in the Bible that denounce it!

Pray for those who believe they’re the saviors for mankind, and ask your Mormon friend if they’re offering salvation why do they believe in Jesus?

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
