Book of Mormon’s Ziff Myth

23 August

BoM Mosiah 11:3; “And he laid a tax of one fifth part of all they possessed, a fifth part of their gold and of their silver, and a fifth part of their ziff, and of their copper, and of their brass and their iron; and a fifth part of their fatlings; and also a fifth part of all their grain.”

2 Timothy 3:13; “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”

There’s no such metal, element, or alloy known as ‘ziff’. If this is a misprint in the BoM, the claim that it’s the most correct book needs to be reevaluated.

If they’re claiming it’s a metal, the same results still apply.

If/when the Mormon tells you it’s a legitimate metal, but no longer around don’t accept this answer! Elements and/or metals don’t just disappear over time. It’s either a viable metal, or it’s not and you can’t have it both ways!
