Book of Mormon Changes Directors to Interpreters

26 March

Isaiah 19:13; “Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men.”

1964 – Present Book of Mormon

Alma 37:21, 24; “yea, and that ye preserve these interpreters . . . And now my son, these interpreters were prepared that the word of God might be fulfilled. . . “

Oops.

As a reminder, the Book of Mormon interpreters were supposedly supplied by God to interpret scripture.

The Book of Mormon director was a ball that showed up at the tent of Lehi one morning, intended to be used as a type of compass, guiding him where he should lead the family out of the wilderness.

Today we have three questions –

1.Why? The 1888 BoM still contained the original writings, which means this was changed after that date. My 1920 BoM shows it had been changed to say ‘interpreters’. If the BoM was the most correct book on the face of the earth, why did they change it?

2.How and what exactly was fulfilled?

3.Did changing the text fulfill ‘the word of God’?

There’s certainly nothing in this BoM passage indicating there’s a genuine belief in the true God of the Bible. Moreover, any godly fear of our Lord seems to be nonexistent, just as it says in Isaiah.
