A Book We Can Judge by Its Cover!

14 March

Romans 6:23; “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Today we’re looking at major contradictions in the BoM, and the Pearl of Great Price that Mr. Joseph Smith, Jr. penned.

Here’s what he claimed came from God’s lips to his mind…

Alma 41:10; “Do not suppose, because it has been spoken concerning restoration, that ye shall be restored from sin to happiness. Behold, I say unto you, wickedness never was happiness.” – c. BC 47

But Joe Smith also said this…

Moses 5:11; “And Eve, his wife, heard all these things and was glad, saying: Were it not for our transgression we never should have had seed, and never should have known good and evil, and the joy of our redemption, and the eternal life which God giveth unto all the obedient.”

2 Nephi 2:25; “Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.” – c. BC 588-570

Why would he say this if not to deceive?

Another deceptive contradiction is found in the writings of Hyrum Smith’s grandson, Joseph Fielding Smith, who wrote the following 120 years after the Book of Mormon was published* –

‘We are sinners all; our own individual experiences have taught us that when we have done evil-though we may have been deceived at the time into thinking we were receiving some happiness out of it-yet when we have come to our sober senses we have discovered the misery we have reaped was not worth the price we paid, and we have found that it is as true as our very existence that “wickedness never was happiness.”’

We’ve learned a few things with this that are absolutely certain.

1.They’ve ruined their credibility with the contradictions they’ve told.

2.The BoM is definitely a book we can judge by its cover.

3.It’s always best just to stick with God’s perfect word!

If your actions will only result in death, why would you praise yourself for something so evil?

As you go about your daily prayers, please, don’t forget to pray for those who are caught in the web of lies and excuses, this church produces!

With Love in Christ;

*The Way to Perfection, pp.183-184; ““WICKEDNESS NEVER WAS HAPPINESS.” Have not all of us proved the truth of this significant remark? We are sinners all; our own individual experiences have taught us that when we have done evil-though we may have been deceived at the time into thinking we were receiving some happiness out of it-yet when we have come to our sober senses we have discovered the misery we have reaped was not worth the price we paid, and we have found that it is as true as our very existence that “wickedness never was happiness.” The fruit of the Spirit of the Lord “is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.”” – Joseph Fielding Smith, 1949
