Bible is Reliable Scripture Database

2 Timothy 2:13; “If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.”

Ah, the Bible. Where would we be without it? Of equal import, where have you been with it? All true believers know our Bibles are part of our daily existence, and because of that we’ve compiled a go-to list of verses you can share while witnessing of where the Bible has declared itself trustworthy and reliable.

In spite of the hundreds of bible verses declaring God’s word is dependable, leaders of the LDS Church  still think otherwise. The tentacles of their not-so-subtle disdain for God’s perfect word, have been firmly entrenched in the fertile soil of the Intermountain West since the mid twentieth century. Cautionary directives like those from Orson Hyde reveal true Mormonism –

Journal of Discourses 2:75-76; “The words contained in this Bible are merely a history of what is gone by; it was never given to guide the servant of God in the course he should pursue.  The Bible is not a sufficient guide, it is only the history of the people who lived 1800 years ago. The history of our Church in this day, presents the scenes and transactions of this people—the revelations and words of God to them…” Orson Hyde, Salt Lake City, October 6, 1854

That said, it’s important to remember we’re true believers because we follow Christ, not the Bible. Untold millions have walked this earth without a Bible, and yet they’re true believers just the same.

A tell-tale sign there’s something wrong in a belief system is when a group of adherents bank their existence on its own canon. Muslims have done this with the Koran, as have JW’s with their version of holy writ; ‘The New World Translation’ of the Bible. Even Joseph Smith qualified for this by stating they’d have no religion ‘if they took away the Book of Mormon’. Yikes!

Many Christians face some level of opposition for their faith, and the most popular thing to attack is of course, the word of God. This ministry comes across it on a regular basis so we spend a fair amount of time looking for verses stating God’s word is reliable, and how the Israelites had trusted scripture for generations. Verses like these show how scripture was the very fiber of their lives. To make witnessing a bit easier, we started ‘collecting’ bible verses!

For every verse in our list, we’re positive there’s at least one, or two others we’ve unintentionally missed. The objective here is to provide readers with a base from which to start their own resource list. For future reference, you can find this list over on the right side bar. If you’d like to see other verses added to it, let us know!

Dear Christian, we pray you’ll kindly share one of the truths from His word with a Mormon. Share a passage, or verse that tells them His word is reliable, and why it’s so. Also, why it’s important to you personally! While it’s common for Mormons to shrug off your information, be assured they’ll think about it at a later time.

One more thing beloved – thanks & God bless!
